A novel optical device with wide bandwidth wavelength conversion and amplification

We report the characteristics of a prototype optical parametric diffuser (OPD), which is a novel optical sampling device. A high conversion efficiency (over -20 dB) was obtained across a wavelength conversion bandwidth of about 83 nm.
