This article reports on a clinical trial that looked at the effect of an interleukin-4 variant on last phase asthmatic response. Increases in Th2- cytosine concentrations have been seen in atopic asthma. It is thought that interleukin 4 and interleukin 13 have a role in the physiological response. The study was conducted to assess the therapeutic value of pitrakinra in the treatment of atopic asthma. The study found that treatment forcing the inhibition of interleukins 4 and 13 in the lung could lessen the symptoms of asthma.
