Use is claimed as UV absorbers of the N,N'-bis-(triazinyl)-diamines of formula (I), with some of (I) being claimed as new compounds, those where the amino and heterocyclic groups for X-1, X2 and A2 are non-fibre-reactive groups. In formulae, R1 and R2 = H or optionally substituted 1-4C alkyl; X1 and X2 = halogen, OH, optionally substituted amino or an N-bonded heterocyclic group; B1 = colourless organic bridging group; A1 = a fibre-reactive group of formulae (IIA-F); -N(R3)-alkylene(R4)-SO2-Z) (IIA); -N(R5)-alkylene-E1-alkylene'-SO2Z (IIB); -N(R5)-arylene-SO2Z (IIIC); -N-(R5)-arylene-(alkylene)t-E2-alkylene'-SO2Z (IID); -N(R5)-arylene-NH.CO.Z1 (IIF); R3 = H, 1-4C alkyl (optionally substituted by OH, sulpho, sulphato, carboxy or CN) or -alkylene(R4)-SO2-Z; R4 = H, OH, sulpho, sulphato, carboxy, CN, halogen, 1-4C alkoxycarbonyl or alkanoyloxy, carbamoyl or SO2-Z; R5 = H or 1-4C alkyl; alkylene and alkylene' = 1-6C alkylene; arylene = phenylene or naphthylene each optionally substituted by sulpho, carboxy, 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy, or halogen; Z = vinyl or -CH2-CH2-G1 where G1 is a leaving group; Z1 = vinyl, -CH2Cl, -CH(Hal)-CH2-Hal or -C(Hal):CH2; E1 = -O- or -N(R5)-; E2 = -SO2-NR3-, -CONR3- or -NR3CO-; t = 0 or 1; and A2 = as for A1 or optionally substituted amino or an N-bonded heterocyclic group.
