But then the audience knew that the hero would not really fall among the crocodiles, whereas I did; which makes this tale, I hope, all the more exciting and improving." - he writes in the epilogue. His early childhood is written in a kind of freudist manner; while the all book written in a kind of self-castigating and self-loving manner - both which makes the volume excellent.
