The article discusses a study which examined the optimal entry point and trajectory of atlantooccipital transarticular screws. The study examined four entry points of screw placement in 126 patients using computed tomography (CT). It concluded that although no significant difference in success rates were found between anterolateral (AL) and posteriolateral (PL), PL can still be considered as the best entry point.
