FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for model demonstration of the possibility of prediction of the occurrence of pathological changes of the dentoalveolar complex when using orthodontic structures. The experimental model of dental object is manufactured of optically transparent or translucent material, and external force loading of the specified object is performed. It is exposed to polarized light, and the interference pattern of the loaded experimental model is recorded, to judge the loads distribution in the loaded model. At that, the experimental model of the dental object is made in the form of a dentoalveolar model having the form of a transverse axial section of an alveolar process with protrusions imitating the external surface of the teeth where the braces are mounted. The model is exposed to polarized light by a unit including a light source, a polarizer and an analyzer, the planes of which are installed in parallel. The polarizer is rigidly fixed and equipped with a graduated ring, and the analyzer is pivotally mounted in a plane parallel to the polarizer plane and is also provided with a graduated ring. The initial interference pattern of stresses in the material of the experimental unloaded model is recorded. An active orthodontic arc is subsequently attached to the braces installed on the model, thus making the model loaded. The loaded model is again exposed to polarized light using the above-mentioned apparatus, achieving the maximum intensity of light and dark interference fringes display by rotating the analyzer plane by a certain angle. The received interference pattern of the already loaded model is recorded, according to which the distribution of loads in the dentoalveolar model is judged, comparing it to the data of the initial interference pattern of the unloaded model.;EFFECT: due to the allocation of zones of high loads concentration and zones of low loads concentration, the method allows to predict pathological changes in the dentoalveolar complex when using orthodontic structures.;7 cl, 9 dwg, 2 ex
