PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing Acer tegmentosum extract is provided to promote skin cell proliferation and collagen biosynthesis. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition for promoting skin cell proliferation and collagen biosynthesis contains 0.0001-10 wt% of Acer tegmentosum extract. The extract is isolated from stem bark or whole stem using anhydrous or hydrous low alcohol or acetone, ethyl acetate, diethyl acetate, diethyl ether, benzene, chloroform, or hexane.
