Disclosed are a controlled-release composition and a preparation method therefor. The controlled-release composition comprises: a ) a drug-containing tablet core, which contains active drugs; and b) an outer coating layer, which contains no active drugs and at least one water-swelling matrix-forming agent. The outer coating layer stays intact for at least 4 hours in the environment of gastric juice or simulated gastric juice, and then bursts to release the drug. The composition can swell to a size sufficient to stay in the stomach under the feeding pattern.
