The invention relates to the field of metallurgy and concerns an apparatus for coating elongated flexible products, such as wires, fibres. The object of the invention is to specify an apparatus in which the products to be drawn through vertically are coated with a uniform layer thickness. The object is achieved by an apparatus, including electrode blocks, which comprise hollow cylindrical long cathodes and cylinder anodes attached to the end faces of the long cathodes and insulating elements arranged therebetween, with a common centre axis, arrangements for generating a magnetic field, installations for transporting, coiling up and uncoiling the elongated flexible products, one or more vacuum chambers, at least one gas supply and a source of electric power. In the case of the apparatus, at least two electrode blocks are arranged vertically one above the other, the arrangements for generating a magnetic field are arranged at the hollow cylindrical long cathodes so as to be rotatable about and displaceable along the long-cathode axis, and electrically insulating screens are arranged between the long cathodes and the cylinder anodes on the insulating elements.
