PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a nanocarbon material whereby the nanocarbon material can be easily produced at a low cost. SOLUTION: An alkali metal and/or an alkaline earth metal 6 are immersed in a halogen-containing organic solvent 4 while a catalyst 8 for forming a nanocarbon material is added to the solvent. The halogen-containing organic solvent is then irradiated with ultrasonic waves 10 to form a nanocarbon material on the surface of the catalyst. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
