The article presents a study to assess the association between nervous system manifestations of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and autoantibodies against P proteins and N-methyl-D asparate receptor. It states that transverse myelopathy is a rare but serios condition in patients with SLE and sjogren's syndrome (SS). It notes that patients with neropsychiatric SLE and SS, autoantibodies against aquaporine-4 (AQP-4) are serologic marker discriminating a significant subgroup.
