A method for manufacturing a barrier rib and a lower panel of a PDP is provided to form a dielectric layer with a uniform thickness by forming a dielectric sheet with a uniform thickness. One surface of a mold(180) for forming a barrier rib is patterned. Plural concave portions(181), which are formed on the mold, are filled with a barrier rib material(P). The dielectric sheet(150) is arranged to face the mold. The mold is attached to the dielectric sheet. The mold is a soft mold, which is made of a flexible material. The filling process is performed by using a squeeze pressure. The barrier rib material is photosensitive paste. After the attaching process, the barrier rib material, which is filled in the mold, is cured.
