摘要：
The title reaction is employed to convert chiral acetals such as (IV) into cyclopropane derivatives of type (VII) [similarly, (IX)-(XII) are obtained from the corresponding olefins or dienes], which can subsequently be transformed to an aldehyde (VI), ester or acid (VIII).
