Examines the mechanism of ras during downregulation of the antiapoptotic protein Bcl-XL in nonmalignant rat and human intestinal epithelial cells. Presence of anoikis after detachment of epithelial cells from the extracellular matrix; Resistance to anoikis after transformation of the cell by ras oncogenes; Ability of ras to regulate Bcl-XL and Bak expression.
