Effect of Dust Explosion Suppression by Inert Powder with Different Granular Composition
摘要:
In order to explore the suppressing effect of inert powder on dust explosion and flame propagation, inert powder with different particle size composition in certain proportion was applied to study the dust combustion flame suppression behavior. In the test, one certain concentration of combustible dust, such as aluminum dust, was mixed with different amounts of granular sodium bicarbonate powder, and then the powder suppression with single-diameter particle and different granulometric composition were performed in a vertical pipe experimental platform. The ionic current, flame propagation behavior and flame temperature were obtained, and the combustion flame speed, the temperature variation and the ionic current were taken to evaluate the inhibitory effects of inert powder on the dust explosion flame. The experimental results show that the dust combustion flame was closely related to the powder size and dust particle size. Furthermore, inert powder with a certain granulometric composition has optimal inhibitory effects on industrial dust explosion, mainly due to the fact that dust explosions have flames with different turbulent scales, and the preheating zone is affected by different granulometric powder over a wide range of diameters.
