摘要:

Pyometra is an inflammatory condition of the endometrium resulting in the accumulation of pus in the uterus. Pyometra can occur chronically (open pyometra) and acutely (closed pyometra) which must receive immediate treatment because it is an emergency. Health problems in the urinary system are also often found in dogs, one of which is urinary bladder (vesica urinaria) calculi. Calculi is a condition where uroliths form in the urinary tract, especially in the vesica urinaria (VU). The purpose of this article was to reveal the coincidence case of pyometra and calculi in urinary bladder in dog. A Pomeranian breed dog, seven years old, female, weighing 2.3 kg, was brought by the owner to the Veterinary Surgery Laboratory with complaints of enlargement of the abdomen. Based on the history and clinical symptoms, such as abdominal enlargement and white-smelly discharge from the vagina. Clinical examination and supporting examinations, such as routine hematological examination, blood biochemical examination, showed severe leukocytosis and thrombocytopenia. Radiographic examination of the abdominal cavity and ultrasonographic examination showed thickening of the walls and enlargement of the uterus as well as a hypoechoic appearance in the uterus, and radiographic results showed a round radiopaque mass in the bladder, the dog was diagnosed suffered from closed pyometra accompanied by the presence of calculi in the urinary bladder. The treatment given was ovariohysterectomy surgery to remove the uterus and cystotomy to remove urolith from the bladder. The premedication given was Atropine Sulfate at a dose of 0.02 mg/kg BW subcutaneously and then induced using a combination of Xylazine 0.87 mg/kg BW and Ketamine 4.35 mg/kg BW intravenously. During the operation additional anesthesia is given at the same dose as the initial administration. On the second day after surgery unfortunately the dog condition deteriorated and it finally died.
