PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable forming by cladding and restoration approximate to those in ordinary welding by utilizing a low temp. metal thermal spraying device. ;SOLUTION: As for a large size tank, particularly, in a bottom plate 1 at the inside, a surface-treated layer of weather resistant and corrosion resistant coating or the like in the initial stage is destroyed by the residues of the contents, condensed water or the like to produce a bottom sheet erosive part 1a. Its repair and restoration in this state are utterly impossible by cladding, backplate mending or the like by the conventional thermal spraying method and welding method. For this purpose, in the case of strict inspection conforming to the Fire Services Act or the like, it is required that the whole body of the bottom plate of the tank is cut, and it is removed by jacking up and is replaced with a separate new bottom plate, and extremely many man hours, time and cost are taken. Then, by using a low temp. metal thermal spraying device, a cladding restored part 2 can easily be obtd. by cladding by thermal spraying after prescribed pretreatment on the spot without replacing the whole body of the bottom plate, and it can be restored to the shape and dimension close to those of the original bottom plate 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
