摘要:

MIMS techniques provide quantitative information via introduction of analyte from a sample matrix into an ion-trap mass spectrometer through a semi-permeable membrane and have been successfully applied to environmental and reaction monitoring. Advantages include direct sample introduction, real-time capability and high sensitivity, particularly for volatile and semi-volatile analytes (VOC/SVOCs). We have employed this technique for monitoring the real-time formation kinetics of haloforms and haloacetonitriles during the chlorination of model compounds and natural surface waters. We have also used MIMS as a rapid screening tool to quantify initial formation rates of DBPs from several novel precursors including pharmaceuticals and anti-microbial agents present in complex aqueous mixtures.
