The author discusses a variety of issues concerning the prevention and treatment of AIDS. The global prevalence of HIV and AIDS have pushed public health experts, policymakers and private industries to campaign for its eradication. Governments, as well as international agencies have developed a comprehensive plan to stop the global AIDS epidemic. The plan links the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis and malaria with the prevention and treatment of AIDS. The prospect of treatment that can alleviate suffering and postpone death can instill hope in patients.
