Ribose, galactose and glucose bis(thiosemicarbazone) complexes of copper(II) and nickel(II)
摘要:
The bis(thiosemicarbazones) of glucose (GluTSCH2), galactose (GalTSCH2) and ribose (RibTSCH2) were prepared and characterized by spectroscopic (1H and 13CNMR, UV, IR) methods. A complete assignment of the NMR signals was made using 1H1H COSY; 13C1H COSY; 13C COLOC and NOEDIF techniques, complemented with theoretical calculations. Metal complexes with the general formula [M(bis TSC)], where M = CuII, NiII and bisTSC = anion of the monosaccharide bis(thiosemicarbazones) were prepared and characterized. The X-band ESR powder spectra of the copper(II) complexes show a rhombic distortion and the solution (DMF) ESR spectra indicate significant axial interaction with solvent molecules. The presence of the monosaccharide residue enhances the complexes' water solubility and increases their biological potential
