The reduction of tosylhydrazones and of acyl tosylhydrazides
摘要：
The treatment of tosylhydrazones with reducing hydrides constitutes an efficient method for the reduction of a carbonyl to a CH 2 group. The intermediate alkyl-tosylhydrazides formed in this reaction have been isolated. The reduction of acyl-tosylhydrazides with LAH provides a new method for the reduction of a —COOH group to methyl group.
