A new 8-hydroxy briarane diterpenoid (compound ) with antifungal activity was isolated along with known compounds (–) from the gorgonian coral juncea. was established as (1,2,8,9,10,11,12,14,17)-11,20-epoxy-14-(3-methylbutanoyl)-2,9,12-triacetoxy-8-hydroxybriar-5(16)-en-18,7-olide. Compound exhibited significant activity against fungi (–) did not exhibit the activity against fungi.Graphical abstractA new 8-hydroxy briarane diterpenoid was isolated from the gorgonian coral was established as (1,2,8,9,10,11,12,14,17)-11,20-epoxy-14-(3-methylbutanoyl)-2,9,12-triacetoxy-8-hydroxybriar-5(16)-en-18,7-olide. Compound it exhibited significant activity against fungi (Aspergillus niger, Candida albicans and Penicillium notatum).
