Evaluation of the treatment with D-chiro-inositol on levels of oxidative stress in PCOS patients
摘要:
Some of the actions and possible regulating role of cyclic AMP (cAMP) and prostaglandins on the liver and gut have been described in several reviews. The attempt is made to update these reviews emphasizing recent pertinent contributions by this and other investigators. "In vivo" and human studies are emphasized. Attention is directed to the following: intracellular compartmentalization of cAMP hepatic metabolism insulin cyclic GMP (cGMP) the effect of prostaglandins on hepatic carbohydrates and lipid metabolism cyclic AMP and bile secretion cAMP and gastric secretion agents which interact with gastric cAMP prostaglandins and gastric secretion pancreatic secretion and effect of exogenous cAMP on human pancreatic secretion. The possible effect of prostaglandins on hepatic carbohydrate metabolism has not been correlated with cAMP levels. Most "in vitro" experiments on the metabolic effects of prostaglandins have dealt with adipose tissue where prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) stimulated glucose uptake glucose oxidation and glycogen and triglyceride synthesis from labeled glucose. Laboratory studies evaluated the metabolic effects of PGE1 in isolated perfused rat liver correlated with cAMP content in both the liver and perfusate. The data indicate that PGE1 does not stimulate the rat liver adenyl cyclase-cAMP system even though the same system responded to known agents which activate cAMP (glucagon and epinephrine). PGE1 failed to induced hepatic glycogenolysis or lipolysis or prevent epinephrine-induced hyperglycemia.
