Study on HIV/STIs prevalence among part of club drug abusers in Beijing
摘要:
Objective To explore the prevalence of HIV,syiphilis,HSV-2,HCV and HBV among club drugs abusers in the Beijing area. Methods A cross-sectional survey was carried out among club drugs abusers, who mainly used methylene dioxyamphetamine(MDA) and other club drugs.Blood samples were collected and tested for HIV,herpes simplex virus 2,syphilis,hepatitis C virus and hepatitis B surface antigen in a compulsory detoxification center. Results Among 151 subjects, the proportion of multidrug use and polydrug use was 39.1% and10.5% respectively.None of them injected club drugs and more than half of them reported having sexual behaviors after using club drugs, with the number of sexual partners between 1 and 80 in the last year.About 27.4% of the abusers reported condom use during their sex.The prevalence of HIV,syphilis,HSV-2,HCV and HBV was 0.7%,13.9%,60.3%,19.2% and 11.5% respectively. Conclusion Non-injection drug use is the main route among club drugs abusers, who may more likely have unprotected sexual behaviors reported as more likely after the use of club drugs. As a result, club drug abusers may become a potential risk group for HIV/AIDS and STIs.
