摘要：

Gas-exchange in tomato plants under salt conditions. This work aimed evaluate the behavior of the gas-exchanges in plants of tomato cultivar Santa Clara submitted to growing concentrations of NaCl cultivated in nutritive solution. The experiment was conduced in glasshouse of the Unit of Plant Growth (UPC) of the Department of Vegetable Biology of the Federal University of Viosa, Minas Gerais, Brazil, in the period from 02/10 to 21/11/2003. The experiment was arranged in completely randomized design, with four treatments (0, 50, 100 and 150 mM of NaCl) and three repetitions. The results evidence that not so much the acquisition, but the fixation of CO 2 was engaged, possibly for damage to the photosynthetic apparatus in the carboxilative phase, as suitable for the increase in Ci and in the relationship Ci/Ca. As consequence was verified reduction in the photosynthesis with the increase of the concentration of NaCl.
