Compositions comprise an acryloyldimethyltauric acid copolymer and an anionic, cationic, nonionic or betaine surfactant. Compositions comprise: (a) at least one water-soluble or water-swellable copolymer produced by radical polymerization of acryloyldimethyltauric acid and/or acryloyldimethyltaurates in the presence of at least one component selected from: (i) olefinically unsaturated (non)cationic monomers that contain at least one oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur or phosphorus atom and have a molecular weight below 500; (ii) silicon-containing monomers; (iii) fluorine-containing monomers; (iv) macromonomers with a number-average molecular weight (Mn) of at least 200; (v) polymeric additives with a Mn of 200 - 1,000,000,000; and (vi) provided that at least one of components (i) - (vi) is heat-sensitive; and (b) at least one synergistic additive selected from anionic, cationic, nonionic and betaine surfactants.
