Dispersal of Euschistus conspersus from Alfalfa Grown for Seed to Adjacent Crops
摘要:
During a 2-yr study (1970-71) conducted on the west side of the San Joaquin Valley, CA, there was a significantly higher number of stink bugs, Euschistus conspersus Uhler, in alfalfa fields grown for seed than in cotton, sugar beets or sorghum. The data show E. conspersus will remain in alfalfa seed fields as a preferred host until the seed becomes unattractive due to hardening or until harvesting. The adult stink bugs then disperse to surrounding crops.
