Electron losses for adsorbed CO
摘要:
Electron energy loss data on Pt (100) surface saturated with CO are presented in N( E) form, and confirm the presence of a 6 eV loss, in addition to the one at 14 eV, as observed in Cu (311) and Ni (110). As compared with the free molecule, the losses for adsorbed CO are strongly influenced by (a) the decrease in energy difference between the 5σ and 1π levels, and (b) a large upward shift in the excited 2π level as in metal carbonyls.
