Extreme Fe II emission from an IRAS quasar

During an all-sky redshift survey of galaxies, we have discovered a very unusual quasar (source 07598+6508). The optical spectrum is dominated by extremely strong F emission, roughly an order of magnitude stronger than that seen in so-called strong F emitters. There seems to exist a very small class of super-strong F emitters. Current photo-ionization models do not readily account for the extreme properties of these objects.
