MANUFACTURE OF COPPER POWDERS BY ELECTROLYSIS

The process of electrolytic manufacturing of copper powders is studied in this work.The stability of electrolyte solution and the effects of some parameters including concentration of Cu 2+ and H +,cathode current density,temperature,etc.,on the performance of Cu powders are investigated.The results show that the copper powders with average diameter of 12 μm can be always obtained under suitable conditions as follows:anode is copper and titanium,cathode is stainless steel,electrolyte is 180 g/L H 2SO 4 and 8 g/L Cu 2+ and cathode current density is 6 A/dm 2.The cathode current efficiency is 72 %.After the products were treated with BTA agent,they have great stability to anti oxidize when it is stored for a long time.
