Analysis of six hundred and twenty-two intertrochanteric hip fractures.
摘要:
Intertrochanteric fractures were treated by internal fixation using nail devices, including the Jewett nail, Massie nail, Synthes nail, or others. A decrease in morbidity and mortality and increase in satisfactory results was seen with anatomical reduction and the use of Massie or Synthes nails. Early ambulation and weight-bearing contribute to the improvement in results. Decreases in mortality may have been influenced by changes in medical care protocols. The collapsible Massie nail was superior to the Jewett nail for unstable fractures in particular due to the ability to control impaction of the fragments to a stable position.
