Synthesis and properties of molecularly imprinted polymers for metalloporphyrins

A novel kind of molecularly imprinted polymer to the template of 5-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenylporphinatozinc(Ⅱ)was prepared by using 4-vinylpyridine as the functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as the cross-linker.The interaction between 4-vinlypyridine and the template as well as three other zinc porphyrin analogs was quantitatively investigated with UV-vis titration spectroscopy,and the binding constants were calculated accordingly.Batch rebinding and fluorescence spectrum measurements were applied to characterize the recognition properties of obtained polymers.It was found that the molecularly imprinted polymer showed specific affinity to the template molecule in comparison with other zinc porphyrin analogs.Scatchard analysis on the molecularly imprinted polymer was performed.The association constant and the maximum number of binding sites were estimated to be 1.61×106 L/mol and 3.22×10-5 mol/g,respectively.
