FACTORS AFFACTING THE MIGRATION OF PERSISTENT ORGANIC POLLUTANTS ACROSS THE SEDIMENT-WATER INTERFACE OF AQUATIC ENVIRONMENT
摘要:
ediment-water interface is an environmental boundary with the greatest distinction in physical, chemical and biological characteristics in natural water, responsible for transport and exchange of chemical species between water and sediment. The factors which affect the migration of persistent organic pollutants(POPs) across the sediment-water interface are briefly summarized in this paper. The roles of physical resuspension and bioturbation in the transport of POPs at the sediment-water interface are also reviewed. It can be seen that the characters of the sediment, water temperature,pH,coexisting substances, colloidal matter etc.are the predominant environmental factors. And physical resuspension and bioturbation play important roles in the migration processes. The paper also points out some problems in the field as well as suggestions for future research.
