摘要：

Room Temperature Vulcanized (RTV) silicone rubber coating can prevent pollution flashover accident from happening, and it has been widely used in China. Lots of sample insulators are taken down from transmission lines in Tianjin directly without cleaning, then the hydrophobicity classes of samples are investigated and their electrical performances are compared with new RTV coated insulators and porcelain insulators. Then Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) is employed to investigate the inherent property change of coating and influence by pollution source. Based on all results, the using life of RTV coating is suggested by a new way, Thermogravimetry (TG) analysis, which suggests the different using life in different places.
