The medium found most suitable for production of toxin by C strains of Cl. botulinum was a solution of proteose peptone (Difco) 4%, with 2% of pancreatic casein digest (N-Z-Amine-type B, Sheffield Farms, Norwich, New York), 2% yeast extract (Baltimore Biological Laboratories) and 1% of glucose.
