Methyl-substituted conjugate cyclohexenones have widely been used as useful building blocks in the con- struction of a variety of biologically and/or medicinally important natural products. Extensive synthetic ef- forts have been reported for methyl-substituted conjugate cyclohexenones, in which an annulation approach from acyclic precursors costituted a useful entry.
