Ability to monitor IP3 concentration changes within single cells due to the detection of translocation; Revelation of spatiotemporal dynamics in the concentration of IP3 synchronous with calcium ion (Ca2+) oscillations and intra- and intercellular IP3 waves that accompanied Ca2+ waves.
