Evaluation of silages and hay produced in selected farms in north-eastern Poland in 1996
摘要:
A total of 53 silage samples and 134 sward-hay samples, taken from farms in north-eastern Poland, were evaluated organoleptically and chemically. Of the silage samples, 44% were considered very good; 31%, good; 18%, satisfactory; and 7%, poor. Mostof the samples of silage classified as very good and good contained 40 to 60% DM. The silage samples, considered of inferior quality, contained more moisture. Of the hay samples, 75% were very good or good, and 25% were wet or mouldy. The crude fibre content of 70% of the silage and 72% of the hay was less than 30% DM. The indication was that it would be more advisable to use more of the wilted grass for silage making rather than haymaking.
