摘要：

An oxidn. dye compsn. for keratin fibres, esp. human hair, comprises a dyeing medium contg.: (a) 2- beta -hydroxyethyl-p-phenylene- di:amine (II) as oxidn. dye precursor; and (b) a combination of 2-methyl-resorcinol (III) and resorcinol (IV) as coupler. (II) is opt. in the form of acid addn. salts, specifically the hydrochloride, sulphate, hydrobromide or tartrate. Also claimed are: (i) a dyeing process, involving applying (I) to keratin fibres then developing the colour in an alkaline, neutral or acidic medium using an oxidising agent (V), applied together with (I) or in a separate compsn. (used simultaneously or sequentially); (ii) a dyeing kit having at least two compartments, one of which contains (I) and another of which contains (V) in a dyeing medium; and (iii) the use of (I), or a kit as in (ii), for dyeing human keratin fibres e.g. hair.
