The present invention relates to a stable colloidal suspension consisting essentially: of a continuous aqueous phase, of nanospheres of lipophilic active principle with a mean particle size ranging from 0.01 to 1 μm, of at least one surfactant, and of colloidal particles, with a mean size ranging from 10 to 500 nm, of at least one water-dispersible polymer, and also to topical-application compositions containing such a colloidal suspension. The invention also relates to the use of water-dispersible polymers in the form of colloidal particles with a mean size ranging from 10 to 500 nm, to stabilize aqueous suspensions of nanospheres of lipophilic active principle, with a mean particle size ranging from 0.01 nm to 1 μm, against the recrystallization of the active principle.
