摘要:

The article focuses on the ability of chemically modified plant wastes as adsorbents in the removal of heavy metal ions from wastewater based on a study. The plant wastes serve as an alternative to costly wastewater treatment methods such as chemical precipitation, ion-exchange and electroflotation. Researchers found that chemically modified plant wastes have higher adsorption rates than unmodified forms. Some of the chemicals used in modifying plant waste were mineral and organic acids, bases, oxidizing agents and organic compounds.
