摘要：

Aluminizing of steel can be done by many methods, such as, hot-dipping, cladding, spraying, electroplating and powder methods. In this paper the author describes the method of gas atomization of molten aluminium on a moving substrate to obtain the coating on steel. Use of secondary gas jets is recommended to get uniform deposit along the width of the strip. Aluminium deposited strip was cold rolled and heat treated to improve the adhesion between the steel and coating. Results have indicated that a good bonding between steel and aluminium can be obtained if the extent of reactions taking place at the interface is controlled.
