The polyester fabric includes a polyester yarn having a fineness of 300 to 700 denier to optimize and maintain the tear strength and seam strength indices in the warp and weft directions within the predetermined range under high temperature and high humidity for a long time, thereby minimizing the impact applied to a passenger and protecting the passenger with safety. The present invention relates to a fabric for an airbag, and a production method thereof. More particularly, the present invention relates to a polyester fabric which includes a high-strength, high-elongation and low-modulus polyester yarn to show excellent toughness and energy absorbing performance after high-humidity heat treatment for a long period of time, a production method thereof, and an airbag for an automobile including the same.
