In the Rade de Brest (Finistère) six Rhynchonellids species, two of which are new, have been collected in the Middle and Upper Devonian where mapping and stratigraphic studies are being carried out: Kransia parallelepipeda (Bronn, 1837), Kransia? sp., Cupularostrum soetenicum (Schmidt, 1941), Coeloterorhynchus sp., Flabellulirostrum morzadeci nov. sp. and Platyterorhynchus aremoricus nov. sp. The morphological study of these species allows to consider the genus Bergalaria Schmidt, 1975 as a junior synonym of Flabellulirostrum Sartenaer, 1971. On the basis of biometrical and morphologicalanalysis, two morphotypes have been distinguished in Platyterorhynchus aremoricus nov. sp. The presence of Cupularostrum soetenicum corroboratesthe givetian age of the Tibidy Formation. The formations with dominating pelagic elementscontain monospecific populations of Rhynchonellids; when the benthic fauna is abundant, Rhynchonellids are more diversified. The migration of Platyterorhynchus from Northern America to Europe is in good agreement with the previous interpretations of the faunal distribution in these two regions.
