Anions [Cu xS y] - reactedwith P 4 (g) to form products which were formally addition ofP 2 units, but are shown by density functional calculationsand collisional induced dissociation to containP nS m ligands co-ordinated to copper; thereactivities of the [Cu xS y] - ionscorrelate with their geometrical rather than electronic structures,according to the principles which are described.
