Based on the mechanical model and simulation theory, a 3-D experimental system was designed and established to simulate coal and gas outburst. Outbursts were simulated under conditions with different coal strengths, stress status and gas pressures, and a mathematical model was established to describe the relationship between outburst scales and the parameters previously mentioned. Stress status and coal mechanics property are main factors to decide outburst scales .
