摘要：

Nitroalkenes have proven to be valuable precursors to a wide variety of target molecules. Several reviews have focused on aliphatic nitro compounds which also encompass nitroalkenes. A few highly specialized reviews have also been written. The present review complements Barrett's review and will hopefully stimulate further investigation in the nitroalkene area. Although coverage focuses primarily on the literature since 1980, significant earlier contributions are included. Reactions of nitromethanes have been covered and only a few recent examples are included here.
