A new steroidal alkaloid,siechuantine 1,was isolated from the bulbs of Fritillaria siechuanica S.C.Chen,cultivated in Sichuan province of China.Its structure was established by a detailed spectro-scopic analysis.Sichuantine is the first veratramine-type steroidal alkaloid having an epoxy-ketal moiety besides the migratiopn of a methyl group at C-12.
