Investigates the use of chiral (salen)TiCl2 complexes to induce the asymmetric addition of trimethylsilyl cyanide to aldehydes. Role of water in the formation of dimeric complexes, which are the catalyst precursors of the reactions; Determination of the structures of the complexes by X-ray crystallography.
