Discusses a study of similarities in the biology of the HER-2/`neu' proto-oncogene in breast and ovarian cancer, in the areas of amplification, over-expression, and gene alteration. A study of the gene was also conducted. The research supports the theory that the HER-2/`neu' gene may be involved in the pathogenesis of some human cancers.
